Ademola Adeleke

Ademola Adeleke is a Nigerian politician and professor from Osun State . He is currently the Senator representing Osun-West Senatorial District. Adeleke was born on March 6, 1960, to the family of Ayoola Adeleke and Esther in Enugu, in Eastern Nigeria.

Adeleke completed his primary education at Christ Church School Enugu. He got his O'Level results at Ede Grammar School, Ede, Osun State in 1981 and thereafter left for the United States where he graduated with a Diploma in Criminology from the Jacksonville  State University in 1986.

Adeleke is an academic, a professor at the University of Lagos. He made his political breakthrough in 2007 when he won the Osun West Senatorial bye-election in a bid to replaced his deceased brother Senator Isaiaka Adeleke who won the election but unfortunately died before assuming the position in April 2017.

Adeleke was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), prior to the bye-election but defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) just a month before the bye-election, when he found out that he was not enjoying the absolute support of the party for the party primaries.

He went on to win the election in July, 2017 on the platform of the PDP, in a landslide victory that got the ruling APC shocked and flatfooted.

Senator Ademola Adeleke is an affable man and is fondly called the Dancing Senator, following his dramatic victory dance when he was declared the winner of the Osun West Senatorial District bye-election.

Senator Adeleke is an uncle to popular pop artiste, Davido and the father of another popular singer B-red.

His hobbies include, dancing and singing, he even claims to have taught  his son and his nephew, Davido, how to sing.

Senator Adeleke, holds the traditional title of Otunba of Oke-Ila Orangun.
