Robert Ajayi Boroffice is a Nigerian politician and the senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District. He was born on April 23, 1949 at Iboje Quarters, Oka-Akoka in Ondo State to Late Pa Zachaeus Omololu Boroffice and Late Mrs. Comfort Aina Boroffice.

Robert Ajayi Boroffice had his elementary education at Christ School Oka-Akoko between 1955 and 1960 and later proceeded to African Church Grammar School, Oka-Akoko between 1961 and 1965 for his secondary school education and finished with a first division in West African School Certificate Examination.
He also attended Victory College Ikare-Akoko between 1966 and 1967 for his Higher School Certificate. In 1968, after teaching briefly in his Alma matter, African Church Grammar School, he proceeded to University of Ibadan for a degree in Geology but later changed his course to Zoology.
He graduated in 1971 as the best student in his department with a Second Class Upper Division.
Due to his outstanding performance, he was admitted to pursue his Doctorate degree program. In 1975, he bagged a Ph.D in Genetics.
In 1978, he Proceeded to the University of Newcastle for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Human Genetics.
His astounding brilliance made it possible for him to complete all his education through scholarships.
He became a lecturer at the University of Ibadan in 1975, and Professor of Zoology at the Lagos State University in 1986.
He has conducted research at the post-doctoral level in the areas of human congenital malformations, carcinogenesis and mutagenesis. He also held administrative positions at the Lagos State University including Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Chairman of the Committee of Deans.
Robert Ajayi Boroffice was appointed Coordinating Director for Science in the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in 1992. His main focus in this job was on biotechnology, Information and Communication Technology and Space Science and Technology.
He played a central role in establishing the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA). In 1999 Boroffice became the founding Director General of NASRDA, a post he held for 10 years.
Under his leadership, NASRDA launched 2 satellites; a low orbit earth observations microsatellite (NigeriaSat-1) in 2003 and a communication satellite (NigcomSat-1) in 2007. He also laid the groundwork for the building of NigeriaSat-2 and NigeriaSat-X, which were launched in August 2011, from Russia.
Robert Ajayi Boroffice was elected as a senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District in the 2011 elections defeating the incumbent, Senator Bode Olajumoke of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
On December 28, 2011, Robert Ajayi Boroffice officially decamped to the Action Congress of Nigeria so that he can pursue his ambition of becoming the next governor of Ondo state.
He was however re-elected as a Senator on the the platform of the All Progressive Congress in the 2015 elections.
Senator Boroffice is a Christian, married and blessed with children.
In 2004, Robert Ajayi Boroffice was conferred the title of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Senator Boroffice, in March 2011, received the 2011 Golden Merit Award in Space Science by the World Federation of Science Journalists.
