TY Bello was born to Remi Sokefun who was a dedicated Television producer on January 14,1978. The artist who was sexually abused as a child, admitted that the experience had a lot of negative effect on her during her formative years.

She had her Secondary School Education at St Johns College, Palm Groove in Lagos State, Nigeria and later went on to the University of Lagos where she was initially admitted to study accounting but later switched to Economics. After completing her studies, she changed tracks and worked as a Jounalist for sometime before venturing into Photography. She was trained by the renowned photographer Don Barber after spending four months of her NYSC year at FOTOTECH.

She has a certificate in beauty therapy and cosmetology from Opral Benson's Beauty Institue.

Toyin Sokefun-Bello Career

She was a member of the defunct gospel band KUSH (Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes) before breaking into her solo carrer. best known for her singles: Greenland, Ekundayo,This Man, Freedom and Funmise.

She is a member of the Nigerian Photography Collective, Depth of Field and was the official photographer to former president Goodluck Johnathan during his tenure in office, she also does big profile jobs with ThisDay Style Magazines which includes the photoshoot of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, The 40s club, Busola Odusanya, Funke Akindele and many other photoshoots.

She is the Director of Link-a-Child, an NGO dedicated to proliferating information on orphanages in Nigeria and Seeking Sponsorship on their behalf. She organizes an annual photography exhibition to raise funds for orphans in Nigeria

TY Bello got married to Keshatu Bello in 2005 and after waiting for nine years, gave birth to her twin boys- Christian and Christopher on 10 October 2014.

The artist who is best associated with her signature Afro curls became a household name in Nigeria when she 'discovered' Olajumoke Orisaguna while 'shooting' British Rapper Tinnie Tempah.
