Kabir Garba Marafa is the senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District. he was born on September 16, 1960 in Tsafe Local Govrnment Area of Zamfara State.

Kabir Garba Marafa started his early education at LGEA Primary School Tsafe which on completing in 1976, he proceeded to Government Secondary Technical School, Gusau where he obtained a GCE in 1981.
Garba completed his Ordianary National Diploma programme at Kaduna Polytechnic in 1985 and then obtained a Higher National Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the school in 1992.
Before venturing into politics, Garba Marafa worked as a Bioprocess Engineer at the Kaduna Refinery. He was then appointed Commissioner for amfara state.
Garba Marafa defected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) just before the 2011 elections and contested for the senatorial seat of Zamfara Central Senatorial District. He emerged winner beating the incumbent Senator Hassan Muhammed Nasina the candidate of the PDP.
Kabir Garba Marafa contested again in the 2015 general elections and was successfully re-elected, this time on the platform of the All Progressives Congress hence making it his second successive term as senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District.
