Senator Mustapha Bukar (Madawakin Daura) was born on December 31, 1954 in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State. Before his death on 4th April 2018, he was the senator representing Katsina North Senatorial District at the National Assembly since 2015.
Mustapha Bukar would have been 69 years old, if he were alive today. May his soul rest in peace.
Mustapha Bukar started out his childhood education at Daura Primary School and completed it in 1968 and then proceeded to Government Secondary School Katsina where he completed his O'Level in 1973. After his secondary education, Bukar went to School of Basic Studies Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he completed IJMB and then got admission to sudy Engineering at ABU, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Bukar started off his Engineering career with the Kaduna Water Board in 1979 just a year after graduation and rapidly rose to the position of Project Manager.
He thereafter got transfered to Katsina State in 1987 following the creation of the state. He worked with the Katsina State Water Resources Management Board, becoming the Chief Engineer and later the General Manager of the board.
Mustapha Bukar was appointed Katsina State Commissioner for Water Resources in 1990, after which he moved to a federal capacity, and rose to become Director, Water Supply and Quality Control at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
He held the position of Director of Public Procurement at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and retired in this capacity in November 2009.
Engineer Bukar despite his illustrous career in the civil service has been a farmer since 1980 and still farms to date.
He also holds the traditional position of Madawaki of Daura since April 1990 to date.
He was appointed District head (Hakimi) of Rogogo in Daura emirate from Nov. 2008 to date.
He is as well the chairman Danbukar Educational Foundation from 1992 to date.

Engineer Mustapha Bukar, contested in the 2015 general elections for the senatorial position of Katsina North Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and emerged winner, making it his debut term at the National Assembly.
He is the Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Power.
Engineer Mustapha Bukar was a Muslim and a high ranking chief in his native town and emirate of Daura, where he held the position of Madawakin Daura. He was married and blessed with many children.
