Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello is the current governor of Niger State, he was born on December 17 1967. He is the eldest child of the Nigerian Billionaire and former military Governor of old Kano state Col Sani Bello (RTD).

Abubakar Sani Bello started out his formative education at St. Louis Primary School, Kano from 1974 - 1979 and later went to the Nigerian Military School in 1980, five years later he graduated and then got admission to study for a degree in Economics at the University of Maiduguri in 1986 and graduated four years later.

Bello started out his career in the private sector from his NYSC days where he worked as a Supervisor in the marketing department of NICOTES services owned by former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in Port Harcourt.

He has held numerous top managerial positions in business including, Chairman Millennium Travels and Tours, Director DANA air, Director Investment Centre Ltd and so many others.

He was also the Niger State Commissioner for Commerce and Investments from 2009 to 2010, when he was appointed by then state governor Aliyu Babangida.
In 2015, following his stint as a state commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello was motivated to go for the pot of gold and contested the All Progressives Congress party's gubernatorial candidacy and won the party primaries to become the APC governorship candidate for Niger State.

He went on to win the 2015 governorship election in Nigeria state thereby becoming the governor of the state.
