Senator Oalmilekan Adeola Solomon was born in Lagos Island on August 10, 1969 to the family of Mr. Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye and Madam Abeeni Olasunbo Ogunleye. He is currently the Senator representing Lagos West senatorial district.

Olamilekan Adeola Early Life

Nicknamed Yayi, Senator Olamilekan grew up in Alimosho where he began his education at State Primary School in Alimosho, Lagos. He proceeded to Community Grammar School, Akowonjo, Lagos for his secondary education.

He became a member of the Accounting Tchnical Scheme in 1995. He thereafter, obatind a certificate from the Institute of Chartered Acountancy in 2000. He also attended the Ondo State Polytechnic where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in 2001. He is a distinguished Chartered Accountant-Associate Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Olamilekan Adeola Career

Adeola had a stint with the flagship of Nigerian newspapers, The Guardian Newspapers Limited for 12 years and rose to the position of Accountant.

He proceeded to Olatunji Omoyeni & Co, a chartered accounting firm, where he led the audit team for several years and was later promoted to the position of a Senior Auditor.

He later established his own company, SOOTEM Nigeria Limited, where he was the managing director and chief executive officer in the firm that specialized in tax consultancy

As a member of the parliament, Olamilkan has served in three different houses. From 2003 to 2011, he was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Alimosho State Constituency 2. Between 2011 and 2015, he was a Federal Legislature, representing Alimosho Federal Constituency at the Nigerian House of Representatives. In 2015, under the All Progressive Congress (APC) he became the senator representing Lagos West senatorial district.

Adeola, a Christian, is a believer in religious freedom for both Christians and adherents of Islamic faith. He is on record to have donated brand new buses to religious organisations of both faiths as well as sponsored several Christians and Muslims to Jerusalem and Mecca respectively on pilgrimage. The great philanthropist is happily married to his heartthrob, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, and the union is blessed with children.
