Jolly Nyame Career

Nyame was Governor of Taraba State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He also served as governor of the state from January 1992 to November 1993. He is a member of the then ruling People's Democratic Party In 2015, the former Governor escaped the beating of his life at his home town, Zing for suggesting the people of the area to vote for All Progressives Congress APC.

In Octobr 2017, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Nyame for alleged misappropriation of Taraba funds to the tune of N1.64 billion during his tenure as the governor. Fielding questions before the Justice Adebukola Banjoko-led court, Nyame said he approved a memo on December 12, 2004 requesting for N250m for the purchase of stationery and the money was released on January 4, 2005.
