Ayanfe attended St. Mathias primary school and Ajibode grammar school for his primary and secondary school education respectively. He proceeded to prestigious University of Ibadan where he bagged a Diploma in Theatre Arts. Monsuru also graduated from Razol entertainment owned by Veteran actor, Rasaq Olayiwola (Ojopagogo).

His nickname, Monsuru happens to be his Muslim name and the name of his first movie that brought him to limelight. Odunlade Adekola, Sanyeri, Wale Okunu, Afeez Oyetoro, Funke Akindele, Fathia Balogun, Ojopagogo, Muyiwa Ademola, are few to mention in the names of entertainers He has worked with. Three movies(Monsuru, Ropo Ijogbon and Wo kilumo) are from his stable, his recent star-studded movie 'Wo Kilumo' is only on YouTube presently, and has gained over 2.1 million views on Facebook.has featured in over 200 movies such as Ile Alayo , Ijoba Ose Kan, Tewe Tegbo, the famous Jenifa's diary and others. 

Ayanfe, who is known for either playing the stubborn boy role or working with the deities in his movie roles, took a long break from the screen in 2017 but it was all for good. The versatile script interpreter is however, back and ready to show how good he is after undergoing some training in movie directing and cinematography in South Africa.

In February 2018, Monsuru in Yoruba movies, was  hospitalized following a fatal car crash. The victim’s colleague and fellow actress, Lawal Rukayat, shared pictures on Instagram and appreciated God for sparing his life. 

In April 2018, the Ibadan, Oyo State-based actor and his wife, welcomed a baby girl. The couple also have an older baby boy.
