Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector Tha Viper or simply Vector was born in Ogun State on August 7, 1984. Vector is the fourth of five children.

Vector's educational history spans from his time at Command children school, Ogun to Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Ogun state and then Government College Victoria Island, Lagos and Saint Gregory’s College, Lagos state, Nigeria. He had his university education at the University of Lagos from where he graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy.
Vector is a Nigerian Hip Hop artist with his voice blaring on most radio stations across Nigeria on the Sprite commercial that was debuted in 2009 showing off his insane love for poetry.
He started his journey into Hip hop in 1994 while still in secondary school as part of a group called “Badder Boiz” which was made up of Vector, Krystal & Blaze, writing their own songs, attending showcases and working seamlessly to sell their songs going on to record their first demo series in 1999 with lead single, “Knocking At Ur Door”. The group was disbanded in 2004 when Krystal left the group due to irreconcilable differences.
Vector released his first studio album, State of Surprise (SOS) in June 2010, Produced by Eloka “Culture” Oligbo with singles like “Kilode” which was released in February 2010, “Mary Jane” in April 2010 and 13 other singles and with the album featuring the likes of 2 Face Idibia, General Pype, Chuddy K, Ade Piper, Emmsong, Sista Soul and with productions from H-Code, Sam Klef, Da Piano, J-Smith, Xela Xelz and Vibez amongst others. In 2011, he released “Angeli” ft. 9ice and “Mr. Vector” featuring Jazzy
His first album was soon followed by another, "The Second Coming" in December 2012 which was released after his mix tape, “Bar Racks”. It had singles like “Born Leader” in which he featured Jamaican international act, Mavado
Vector's big break came in 2015 with the release of his hit single, "King Kong” which he went on to remix twice, the first time featuring Phyno, Reminisce, Classiq and Uzi and the second, featuring Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie following this up immediately in July 15, with “Kanawan Dabo” and a freestyle in July 24 titled “8”. He went on to set a new record for the longest rap freestyle in which he free styled for 24 hours.
In 2016, he released his third studio album, Lafiaji which is his most recent album.
Vector has shown his abilities as King of rap by featuring in many rap battles including the Channel O Lagos Party at the Vaults, Unilag Rap King and Diss tracks, the most popular being the back and forth Diss track between him and the Nigerian Artiste, Reminisce.
He was signed to YSG Entertainment before the major controversy of his career where he was said to have walked out from the label before the expiration of his contract and as a result dragged to court and eventually banned from all musical activities for a year.
He has been nominated for awards ranging from Best Mainstream Hip Hop Video, 2010 Nigeria Entertainment Awards for Best Collaboration with Vocals, Lyricist on the roll at the 2011 Hip Hop World Awards.
He is a brand ambassador for the Vita foam brand and in 2014, he signed an endorsement deal with the Whisky brand, Jack Daniels.
