Ayeni Adekunle Samuel (popularly known as Ayeni The Great) was born to parents from Oka-Akoko in Akoko South West local government area of Ondo State, Nigeria. He public relations practitioner, journalist, microbiologist and businessman. Before founding BHM, he was a journalist at Encomium, The Punch, Thisday, and The Africa Report.

Adekunle Ayeni Early Life

Ayeni grew up in a house filled with lovers of books and music. This helped open his mind and inspire his future writing career. He had his basic education in Lagos. His secondary education was at Awori College in Ojo, Lagos. In 1999, he enrolled into the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, from where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology.

Adekunle Ayeni Career

Ayeni began his writing career in 1996, just after leaving secondary school. He later on founded a PR company called Black House Media (BHM), and he is also the founder and publisher of Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) newspapers Ltd. As a writer, he specialises in the art and literature especially music. He has able to build a credible and respected website in NET. He has also been able to build a newspaper that circulates nationally, first, from a Bi-weekly to a Weekly. The newspaper is able to command the respect of those it reports.

As a journalist, he has worked as an editor with Hip Hop World Magazine and as showbiz columnist?with Encomium Weekly. He has also had stints with newspapers such as This Day and The Punch. He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Chartered Institute of Public Relations UK (CIPR).

In 2016, Toni Payne named Adekunle Ayeni as the man who broke her marriage to 9ice. Toni was alleged to have called in on the Lunch Time show, from California and stated that the wedding separation press release sent out by 9ice’s publicist at the time, Ayeni started the rumour.

Ayeni is currently married and lives in Lagos with his family.
