Barr Benjamin Iorember Wayo was born in 1966. He is an indigene of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. He is a lawyer, businessman and politician currently representing Kwande/Ushongo Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon. Wayo grew up in Benue State where he attended Government Secondary School (GSS) in Gboko, Benue State where he passed his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1984. In 1990, she obtained a diploma from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State and went on to obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from the same institution. She went on to the Nigerian Law School in Victoria Island, Lagos and was called to bar thereafter.
From 1995 to 1997, Hon. Wayo worked as a magistrate at the Benue State judiciary. From 1998 to 2014, he was a company secretary and administrative director. In 2015, he was elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to represent Kwande/Ushongo Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.
His legislative interests include framework for agricultural expansion, promotion of rule of law, administration of justice, improved health care development and power supply. He aims to facilitate the enactment of laws in various sectors.
