Hon Alhassan Ado Garba popularly known as Alhassan Doguwa was born on August 14th, 1965 Dadin Kowa Village, Doguwa Local Government Area, Kano State, Nigeria.His father, Alhaji Ado, was a prominent politician. Hon Ado represents Tudun-Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Hon Ado attended Dadin-Kowa Primary School where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He had his secondary education at Government Secondary School, Gaya, where he obtained the West African Senior Certificate (WASC). He proceeded to the Bayero University Kano where he studied Mass Communication and graduated with a first class degree in 1990.

Hon Garba began his political career in 1992 when he was elected into the Federal House of Representatives under the Social Democratic Party. In 2000 he served as Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on environment.

He returned to the Federal House in 2007 to represent Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency. He was re-elected in 2011 and 2015. He is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Until 2015, he was Chairman at Millennium Development Goals Committee. He was also a member of the Drugs & Narcotics, Public Petitions, and Niger Delta Development Commission Committees.

Hon Garba is currently the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives.
