Hon. Ochepo Adamu

Hon. Adamu Ochepo Entonu was born on January 9th, 1965. He is an indigene of Apa Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. He is a civil engineer, legal practitioner, businessman and politician. He currently serves in the 8th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he represents Apa/Aguta Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon. Ochepo Adamu Early Life

Hon. Adamu began his education sojourn at St. Patrick Primary School in Jos, Plateau State from where he earned his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He had his secondary education at Government Secondary School Utukpo, Benue State and obtained his Senior School Certificate in 1982. He proceeded to the University of Jos, Plateau State and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 1990. He also holds a degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Abuja.

Hon. Adamu began his career as a young Project Engineer with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja. He has seen been involved in several engineering projects such as; Built Properties Nigeria Limited, a real estate company; Pajoda Nigeria Limited, property management consortium; Brex oil Nigeria Limited; an oil and gas marketing company; and Zilox oil Nigeria Limited; an oil and gas trading company.

Hon. Adamu joined the field of politics in 2011 under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was elected into the Federal House of Representative to represent Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency of Benue State. He was re-elected for a second term in 2015. His legislative interests include housing, work, social injustice, youth empowerment, and agriculture. He serves on various committees including as Deputy Chairman of Solid Minerals Development. Other committees include; Federal Judiciary, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Army, Anti-corruption, Drugs & Narcotics, House Services, Special Duties and Works.

Hon. Adamu founded the Adamu Ochepo Foundation which seeks to empower several people. The foundation also advocates for quality health care and education in his constituency. The Foundation launched an annual free medical scheme to treat the elderly people in Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency. It runs from 21st to 25th February yearly.

Hon. Adamu belongs to several bodies such as; Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Bar Association, Builders Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Directors and Nigerian Institute of Mortgage & Financial Lenders.
