Hon Sani Fago Saidu was born on January 2nd, 1958 in Sandamu Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria. He is an administrator and politician. He is a member of the National Assembly where he represents Daura/Sandamu/Mai' Adua Federal Constituency.

Hon Sani attended Sandamu Primary School and graduated with a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1975. He proceeded to the Teacher’s College in Daura, Katsina State and graduated with a Grade II Certificate in 1980. He proceeded to the College of Administration, Funtua, and graduated in 1984. He also earned a diploma from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1991.
Hon Sani began his career as a Finance Clerk at Daura Local Government Council. He also worked as the Pay Master/Principal Accountant of the Local Government.
In 1996, he was elected Chairman of Daura Local Government. He was elected Chairman of Sandamu Local Government in 1997 under the platform of the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP).
In 1999 he was elected into the Katsina State House of Assembly under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He was re-elected in 2007 during which he was also elected Speaker of the House. He was the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture from 1999 to 2003.
In 2011 Hon Sani was elected as member of the Nigerian Federal House of Representatives to represent Daura, Sandamu, and Mai’ Adua Federal Constituency of Katsina State. He was re-elected in 2015 under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). His legislative interests are in law making and good governance.
