Aide Brown Ideye was born on October 10, 1988 in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. His parents are Mr. Joel Ideye and Mrs. Theresa Ideye. He is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Málaga, on loan from Chinese club Tianjin Teda, and the Nigerian national team.

Brown Ideye Early Life

Ideye began his career with Bayelsa United before moving to Ocean Boys. He was a member of the Ocean Boys team that won the Nigerian Premier League in 2006. He was in line to join Willem II Tilburg, but the club ruled out the possibility of signing a contract with the player.

Brown Ideye Career

On January 2008, Ideye signed for a Swiss side, Neuchâtel Xamax. From 2008 to 2010, Ideye made 55 appearances and scored 23 goals for Xamax. In 2010, he signed a deal with Sochaux. He featured in 52 matches and netted 17 goals for the French side in the 2010/11 season.

On 6 July 2011, Ideye penned a five-year contract with the Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv. On 16 July 2011, he made his first-team debut against PFC Oleksandria and scored 2 goals. On 7 August 2012, he netted the winner in the Champions League qualifier between Dynamo Kyiv and Feyenoord, helping the club to progress to the next round. From 2011 to 2014 Brown scored over 30 goals in more than 70 games, being Dynamo’s first-team regular.

On 18 July 2014, Ideye signed a three-year deal with English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion, becoming the club’s record signing at a fee reported as £10 million. The contract included an option in the club’s favour for an extra year. After a difficult start to the season in England, Ideye scored his first league goal for the club in their 3–1 loss to Manchester City on Boxing Day 2014, and scored four times in a six-day spell in February 2015 with goals against Burnley and Swansea City in the Premier League and two against West Ham United in the FA Cup.

On 31 August 2015, Ideye joined Olympiacos from West Brom for an undisclosed fee, though believed to be around €6 million. The prospect of featuring in the Champions League again was rumoured to play a crucial role in convincing him to move to the Athens-based club. He left Olympiakos for Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda in the January 2017 transfer window. He joined the Chinese club on a two-and-a half-year contract for a transfer fee of €12 million. His contract, which ran until the summer of 2019, was worth €3.5 million per year. On 29 January 2018, Ideye joined Spanish La Liga side Málaga on loan for six months.

Ideye was called up to the Nigeria U20 squad for the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He managed to score one goal in 5 games. In May 2010, he won a call-up to the senior national team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He was also selected for Nigeria's squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. He has featured in 362 games scoring 145 career goals.

He is married to Damka Ideye, and they have two sons, Brown Ideye Jr. and Andriy Ideye. In 2015, a Ukrainian woman named Alex alleged Ideye to be the father of her two children. She claimed that they had romance in between 2008 and 2010 while he played for Neuchatel Xamax. Later, a Swiss court ordered Ideye to pay $225,000 for child support.

On his hobbies while growing up, Ideye said, "We had another fun, pure African. From bottles of Coca-Cola, we cut out the bottom, took the lid and tried to put them in the hole.'' His net worth is estimated to be above $5 million as his primary source of income mostly comes through playing football for Nigeria and various clubs around the world.
