Uche Innocent Nwofor was born September 17th, 1991 in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a footballer who last played as a striker for AS Tren?ín in the Fortuna Liga.

Uche Nwofor Early Life

While growing up in South Eastern Nigeria, Nwofor's parents wanted him to further his education to the pinnacle. However, lack of finances hindered such dreams. This led him to opt for football. Beginning from the streets, he made his way to Power United also called Anambra Pillars F.C in 2008.


Uche Nwofor Career

After establishing himself in Anambra FC, Nwofor joined Nigeria Premier League side, Shooting Stars FC in the summer of 2009 where he played on loan for one season before joining Rangers FC. He signed with VVV Venlo in August 2011. On September 11th 2011, he announced his arrived by scoring on his debut for VVV Venlo in a thrilling home draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch top flight. In his first season, he scored 4 goals in the Eredivisie. On August 30th, 2013, he joined SC Heerenveen on a season long loan. On September 12th, 2014, he joined Lierse SK on a free transfer, he has sign a one-year contact.

In April 2011 Nwofor represented the Nigerian under-20 team where he netted four goals in five games to finish highest goal scorer of the 2011 African Youth Championship as Nigeria won a sixth continental title in Johannesburg and he was named the Goal.com star of the week in the tournament. In August 2011 he represented Nigeria in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. He was an instant hit, coming of the bench to score two goals in 6 minutes against Croatia, Nigeria was subsequently knocked out by France in the quarter finals in a 3–2 thriller.

Nwofor earned his first full-international cap for the Super Eagles on 3 March 2010 in a friendly game against the Congo DR national football team. He was also instrumental when Nigeria's B team beat Republic of Benin 4–0 in the WAFU Nations Cup. In July 2013, he was called up by the Nigerian national team for an international friendly match against South Africa in Durban on 14 August. He scored 2 goals in the 49th and 68th minutes. In the first of Nigeria's World Cup warm-up matches of 2014, Nwofor scored a last-minute equaliser to spare Nigeria's blushes against an in-form Scotland. The match ended 2-2. Nwofor made the World Cup roster when it was announced three days later.


Uche Nwofor Personal Life

Nwofor is a Christian. On December 31st, 2014, he tied the knot with Ogechi Sunday, a native of Umuahia Ibeku in Abia State. Their first child is a girl named Munachimso Sophia Nwofor, while their second, a boy named Chidubem Samuel Nwofor, was born on December 24th, 2017.
