Obinna Nwafor (popularly known as Saint Obi) in Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria on November 16th, 1965. He hails from Okpa in Mbaitolo Local Government Area, Imo State. Obi is a Nigerian actor, producer and director.

The only son in the family of 9 children, Obi grew up in Jos, Plateau State where he had his primary, secondary and tertiary education. He attended Zang Secondary Commercial School and in 1991, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Jos. Inspired by foreign movies as a child, Obi always wanted to be an actor.
Saint Obi joined the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, in 1995. In 1996, he rose to fame after starring in the popular NTA commercial series. He has sincethen, featured in more than 250 Nollywood movies some of which include Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Executive Crime, State of Emergency, War Front, and The President Must Not Die. He produced his first movie titled “Take Me to Mama” in 2001, where he starred as Jerry, alongside with Ebi Sam.
Few years ago, the actor quit acting to focus on the production and business part of the entertainment amongst other things. He revealed in an interview that he had to move behind the scene so that he could improve things. He denied quitting acting because jobs stopped coming, but because he needed to do other things. "As one grows older, you realize that you do not need to be in all the movies. If you have been following my career, as years went by, from doing 10 movies in a year, I reduced it to six. I later reduced to one per year, because I felt that it’s not how many times you appear in a movie but how well you act," the actor explained.
As an entrepreneur, Obi is the Founder and CEO of Agwhyte International Limited – a Production, Talent and Brand Management and Public Relations Firm based in Nigeria and U.S.A.
Obi is married to Lydia Saint Nwafor and they are blessed with many beautiful kids. He is currently one of the richest and most influential actors in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $7 million. He speaks English, Igbo, Hausa and a little of the Yoruba Language.
Obi has the ambition of stimulating Nollywood into a core African film genre in the global Arts market. Above all, he strives to remain steadfast in God’s parallel of Truth, Love and Peace for all mankind. He is also a complete athlete who had represented Plateau State in both Football and Basketball tournaments. He also enjoys body building.
Saint Obi has won several movie awards which include Best Actor in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Africa at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Nollywood Movie Awards.
