Oladayo A. "Dayo" Okeniyi was born on June 14th, 1988 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria to a Nigerian father of yoruba descent and a Kenyan mother.

Dayo grew up in Lagos, Nigeria where he had his primary education. He moved to the United States with his family at age fifteen. His father, now a retired customs officer and mother, a British literature teacher, were adamant that their children receive an education in the United States. Dayo received a Bachelor's degree in visual communications design from the Anderson University Indiana in 2009. After College, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting, his true passion.
Dayo began his professional career in 2010. In 2012, he had a breakout film role as Thresh in The Hunger Games. He made a guest appearance on The Wendy Williams Show in 2012. In 2013, he played Alec in the television show Revolution and in 2014, he played Mace in Endless Love. In 2016 he began appearing in the TV series Shades of Blue. He played supporting roles in the 2013 films Runner, Runner and Cavemen. He is probably the first Nigerian actor to be shot by Jennifer Lopez.
Dayo is currently not married and has four older siblings. He currently lives in California, USA.
