Cleopatra Tawo (known as Cleo Tao) was born on October 29th in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, to a Roman Catholic family from Boki, Cross River state. She was a lawyer, media personality and a radio presenter.

Cleopatra Tawo Early Life

Cleo grew up in a  Roman Catholic home in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. She attended International Secondary School, RSUST, Port Harcourt. She studied law in the University before going into radio broadcasting in 2000.

Cleopatra Tawo Career

Cleo was a radio host at Silverbird's Rhythm FM 93.7 in Port Harcourt where she was known several shows including Morning Drive, Afternoon Drive, Sunday at the Rhythm and Midnight Caller. Her last media job was with Planet FM 101.1 Uyo where she was the Head of Programmes and hosted Daybreak on Planet and AutoMania. She also did numerous interviews with mega stars in the music and Nollywood industry in Nigeria and aboard.

On December 19th, 2005, Cleo and her colleague Klem Ofuokwu were arrested by agents of the State Security Service (SSS). They were charged with airing fabricated news about a bridge failure on Rhythm 93.7 FM Port Harcourt. After weeks of detainment, the case was withdrawn by the Rivers State Attorney General Henry Ajumogobia.

Tawo was still single before her demise. She began suffering from a respiratory illness in November 2017 and was admitted to the intensive care unit of the University of Uyo Teaching hospital where she died on December 1st. She was lively and very passionate about her job.
