Harrison Tare Okiri better known by his stage name Harrysong was born on March 30, 1981 as the only child to Ijaw parents in Warri, Delta state. His father's second wife had issues with him and this led to him packing out of the house and dropping out of school to pursue a music career.

Harrysong is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who rose to fame after his tribute song to Nelson Mandela won the 'Most Downloaded Callertune Award' at The Headies 2013.
His music career started at age eleven in the church where his mother served as the music director. He went on to learn contemporary gospel music.
He grew up listening to sounds from Oriental Brothers, Victor Owaifo, Lex Benson, Fela Anukulapo and this influenced his love for old school music.
Professionally, he started doing music in 2007,when he just came to Lagos, going to studios to record and going to clubs to play for people. He moved from studio to studio writing free songs for people and following live bands to perform.
He met Kcee at O’jez Club, he had come to watch him perform and he was the one who introduced Harrysong to a lot of people who he worked with and he got signed to Five Star Music.
He became known as a Nigerian singer after the release of the single 'I’m In Love' and 'Taiye & Kehinde'. The video of the song topped music video charts including Trace TV.
In 2012, Harrysong released his first studio album titled 'Testify' through Question Mark Entertainment .
In 2014, he was nominated in the 'Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year' category at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards for the single 'Better Pikin'.
In 2015, Harrysong released two hit singles featuring other artists in them. He released "Feel It' fetauring Iyanya And Kcee but before that, in thesame year, 'Reggae Blues' featuring Olamide, Kcee and Iyanya.
He signed a multimillion naira endorsement deal with MTN in 2014 and the deal was renewed in 2015 and on the 1st of January 2016, The Reggae Blues hit maker signed an endorsement deal with Gala sausage, a product of UAC Foods Nigeria.
He was arrested on January 27, 2017 by his former record label, Five Star Music over breach of contract. In a recent interview, he revealed plans to promote and sponsor upcoming music artists through his newly launched record label, 'Alter plate'

Harrysong revealed that in an interview that if music had not worked for him, he would probably have gone into football.
There was a report on him having a public affair with popular Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, in 2014, an issue that was later cleared by both sides stating that there was no relationship between them, and the actress had only kissed him because she was drunk.
Harrysong and his girlfriend reportedly welcomed a set of twins in the US in June 2017, The baby boy was christened, 'PEREZ' which means 'wealth' in Ijaw language and the girl’s name was adapted from Harrysong’s own name (Tare) and was called "TARELA', which means 'love'.
