Olumide Edwards Adegbulu (popularly known as Olu Maintain, Mr. Yahooze or Chinchilla) was born on July 19th, 1976, in Lagos state, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian musician, producer and performer.

Olumide Adegbulu Early Life

An indigene of Ondo state, Olu grew up in a home with parents as medical practitioners - his father is a medical doctor and his mother, a nurse. He obtained a diploma certificate in Accountancy from The Polytechnic in 2001, where he had began playing music since 1997.


Olumide Adegbulu Career

Olu Maintain began his music career in 1997 with the release of his first album titled, Domitila. He thereafter, co-founded the group known Maintain with his cousin, Tolu Ogunniyi. The group went on to release six albums between 1998 and 2004 with the hit songs such as 'I Catch Cold' and 'Alo' before they separated in 2004. 

Olu rose to prominence on May 2007 with the release of the hit song, Yahooze, from his studio album, Yahooze (2007), and a second album, Maintain Reloaded (2008). He featured Big Bamo in the single, Kowonje. Yahooze was named Hottest Single of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2008. In 2008, he performed the track at the Royal Albert Hall, London and brought on stage Colin Powell, the former United States Secretary of State. Other hit tracks from the artist include Nawti (2012), Hypnotize (2013), Cinderella (2015), Excuse My French (April 2016) and Olu in Brazil (2017)


Olumide Adegbulu Personal Life

Olu Maintain is currently not married although he is above 40 years. There were rumours in 2013 that he had a secret wedding with his girlfriend, Wendy, which he denied. He met her in Los Angeles, USA. They have since parted. 

In October 2016, he bought a brand new car for his Manager, Jason Oluwayomi Amusa, as a birthday gift.
