Ibinabo Fiberesima was born on January 13th, 1973 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria, to a Nigerian father from Okirika, Rivers state, and an Irish mother. She is an actress, director, event planner and National director for Miss Earth Nigeria.

Ibinabo is the second child in a family of six. Her father, J.B.Fiberesima, was a medical doctor. She attended the Y.M.C.A Play Centre, Port Harcourt and had her secondary education at the Federal Government Girls College, New Bussa in Niger State. In 1994, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Ibadan.
Ibinabo made her first appearance in the 1991 Miss Nigeria beauty pageant hosted by Silverbird Television. She ended up as the first runner-up in the competition. Prior to the competition, she won the Miss Wonderland contest in 1990 and in that same year, was the first runner-up at the Miss NUGA competition held at the University of Calabar in Cross River State. She went on to win the Miss Wonderland Beauty Pageant in 1997.
Due to her love for music and the arts, Ibinabo went into Night Club Management in the 90’s and she ran her club, the Pyramid- a gift she got from her boyfriend. Later on, she ventured into acting, with solid performance in ‘Most Wanted’ (Nigeria’s version of ‘Set It Off’. An American movie featuring Queen Latifah in a Gangster role). Besides acting in other movies, she has also produced a movie ‘A Night in the Philippines’.
She also contributed positively to the Nigerian Music Industry by appearing in Music videos especially those of Edward Inyang, whose stage name is Blackky. She is also the National Director for Nigeria to the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant and Miss International Beauty Pageant.
In 2014 the Nigerian actress got married to Uche Egbuka. First, the couple had a traditional wedding and then a white wedding ceremony. In 2017, stated that her two-year marriage had broken up. She has three children - two boys and a girl, from three different relationships. Her youngest is the girl named Zino and her father is Fred Amata. Her son, named Sean Leam, is about 20 years of age. He is a footballer and plays in one of the UK teams. She has also adopted some kids but she does not really reveal a lot of information about them. It is however, believed that she has 5 or 6 children altogether.
In 2009, Ibinabo was charged for manslaughter and reckless driving after she accidentally killed a certain Giwa Suraj in 2006. On March 16th, 2016, she was removed from her role as the National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria and was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Nigeria. She was granted bail on April 7th, 2016, after the payment of the sum of ?2 million was granted on her behalf by a Court of Appeal in Lagos pending the determination of her appeal at the Supreme Court.
Ibinabo is a recipient of the City People Movie Special Recognition Award.
