Lauritta Onye Career

Lauritta whose initial plan while coming down from Owerri in 2007 had been to become an actress decided to delve into sports on the advice of a friend. After training for two weeks, she made the team and has since then represented the country in various events.

She started making her mark in  the sports world at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique in 2011 where she won a silver medal, from there, she went on to the African championship in Tunis, Tunisia in March 2015 where she won one gold medal and one silver medal and in October of the same year, she won another gold at the World championship in Qatar. She participates in shot put and discus and in 2016 competing in the F40 classification throwing events and winning a gold medal at the Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro 

In 2015 she starred in the Nollywood film, 'Lords of Money', appearing under the screen name, Laury White
