Honourable Samuel Okon Ikon was born on February 1st, 1973 in Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian economist, businessman and politician who currently represents Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Honorable Ikon attended Holy Child Nursery and Primary School Ikot Ekepne, Akwa Ibom State. He thereafter enrolled at the Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State where he obtained his West African Senior Certificate in 1989. In 1995, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Calabar in Cross River State. He further earned an MBA from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in 2004.
In 1996, Honorable Ikon had his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) experience as a lecturer at the Abia State Polytechnic in Aba. As an accomplished businessman, he served as Managing Director Integrity Resources Limited between 1995 and 2004. He was also Director of I-Bros (NIG) Limited, Ikot Ekpene. He served as Managing Director was Prince Paints Nigeria Limited up till 2004.
In 2004, he was appointed Commissioner III, Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission and served in that capacity until 2006 when he ventured into politics. He ran for nomination on the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Etinan in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. He was victorious in the election. From 2007-2011, he represented his people with distinction in the House and his accomplishments recommended him for a second term berth in the House.
On the floor of the House, Honorable Ikon was active and emerged as one of the most forceful and influential voices. He sponsored several bills including; The Supplementary Appropriation Bill, State joint Local Government Bill, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 Appropriation Bills and Local Government (Administration) Amendment Bill. During that term (2007 to 2011), he also served as the 9th Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
In 2012, he was appointed member of Executive Committee, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, and Africa Region. On June 23rd, 2012, the Africa Region Secretariat appointed him to serve on the 43rd CPA Programme that took place in South Africa.
In 2015, Honorable Ikon was elected to represent Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). His legislative interests include youth empowerment and environmental protection. In June 2016, Honorable Ikon and two other members of the National Assembly were accused of sexual misconduct and attempted rape while on a leadership training in Cleveland, Ohio by the Under States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwis. Honorable Ikon was later found not guilty.
Honourable Ikon is happily married and the union is blessed with three children.
