Sergius Oseasochie Ogun was born in 1963 to the Ogun family from Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. He is a lawyer, businessman and politician. He is a member of the Federal House of Representatives where he represents Esan North-East/Esan South- East Constituency.

Hon. Ogun attended St. John Grammar School in Fugar, Edo State and graduated in 1983 with the West African Senior Certificate (WASC). He also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) in 2003 from the University of Benin, Edo State.
Since 1987, Hon. Ogun has been in the oil and gas industry (upstream). He has also served as the managing director of a service company.
In 2015, he was elected under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Esan North-East/Esan South- East Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives. His legislative interest is to sponsor bills for the welfare of the people. He also serves as a member of the House Committee on Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Hon. Ogun's Foundation has sponsored numerous students from his constituency. In March 2018 the foundation offered scholarships to six best students in Esan, Edo State.
