Hon Johnson Egwakhide Oghuma was born on March 3rd, 1960. He is an indigene of Fugar in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. He is member of the Federal House of Representatives where he represents Etsako East/West/Central Constituency.

Hon Johnson Oghuma attended St. John's Grammer School in Fugar, Edo State where he sat and passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Thereafter, he proceeded to the Bendel University, now Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State where he graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He later got a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos, Akoka in 1990.
Prior to joining politics, Hon Oghuma worked as an Economist in the public and private sectors. In January 2017, he defeated the People’s Democratic Party candidate Mr. Jude Imagwe to emerge the winner of the Etsako Federal Constituency bye-election in Edo State. Hon Oghuma who ran under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), emerged winner with 39,876 votes against his opponent who also polled 18,193 votes. The bye-election came following the election of the former holder of the seat, Mr. Philip Shuaib, as Deputy Governor of the state.
Hon Oghuma's family lives in Benin City, Edo State.
He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria.
