Hon. Amiruddin Idris Tukur was born on August 21st, 1972 in Katsina State, Nigeria. He is a businessman, politician and lawmaker representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency of Katsina State at the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon. Amiruddin grew up in Plateau State. He attended Gonerit Memorial College Tuwan-Kabwir, Plateau State. He graduated in 1991 with a Senior School Certificate. He proceeded to the University of Jos where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in political science. In 2007 he bagged a Master's degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies and a doctorate degree in 2011 in International Relations and Strategic Studies, both from the University of Jos.
After his education, Hon Tukur worked as a press man. He was a staff of Plateau Publishing Co. Ltd., Daily Times of Nigeria (2003-2007), and Leadership Nigeria Paper (2006-2010).
In 2011 he was elected to represent Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of Public Service Matter, and Interior Committees. He was re-elected in 2015 under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). He serves as Vice-Chairman at Anti-Corruption Committee.
