Senator Philip Aruwa Gyunka was born on January 22, 1963 in Akwanga, Nasarawa state.
Aruwa Gyunka is 61 years old.
He commenced his education at GMS Primary School and completed it in 1978, he then proceeded to Mada Hills Secondary School and graduated in 1983. Gyunka obtianed a Bachelors degree in Economics in 2009 and a Masters degree in International Relations and Security Studies from Benue State University in 2015.
Before making his foray into politics in 2007, Gyunka worked in the banking sector as an international banking strategist, foreign exchange transactions expert, investment analyst and business manager. He worked with Bank of the North Plc and Unity Bank Plc respectively.
Gyunka was a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for two terms from 2007 to 2015.
In 2015, he took his political ambitions a notch higher when he secured the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) ticket to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial Seat at the National Assembly.
His efforts paid off and he was declared the winner in the elections on the platform of the PDP.
