Shan George was born April 21st, 1970 in Ediba, Abi local government area of Cross River State, Nigeria. She is a Nollywood movie writer, actor and producer.

George grew up in Lagos where completed both her primary and secondary school education, after which she proceeded to University of Lagos and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. During her final year in the University of Lagos she produced her first blockbuster movie titled “All for Winnie”. The movie gave her an advantage in Nollywood and attracted her to movie practitioners.
After her graduation from the university, George joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in 1996 and featured in her first movie “Winds of Destiny” in 1997. She rose to fame after featuring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Outcast” a movie that brought her to limelight and gave her an award for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie academy Awards. Unarguably, George is the one of the most prolific actress in Nigeria. She is currently one of the most gifted, most creative, most skillful and most talented actresses in Nigeria and knows how to interpret her roles very well.
George has featured in over 100 Nollywood movies some of which include; Thorns of Rose, All for Winnie, A Second Time, Outcast, Blood Diamonds, Welcome to Nollywood, Travails of Fate, Made in Heaven, General’s Wife, Wrong Number, My Sweat, London Forever, Super Zebraman, A Second Time, Grand Mother, and Passionate Crime. She acts mostly in action and romantic movies alongside with Jim Iyke, Saint Obi, Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic and a host of other top Nollywood celebrities. In 2010, she released her debut studio album titled “Dance” which got positive reviews from music critics. Her songs are all in her native bahumono language and that has really gone down well with critics who think that the music industry is fast losing its originality to western tunes.
George has had several controversial issues with her love life. Her first marriage was when she was 16 years old. She presently has two children, Jaga Nwosisi, and Delnoi Nwosisi, after being involved in two broken marriages. On September 7th, 2014, the actress became a grandmother as her son Delnoi, welcomed his daughter.
