Hadiza Blell (D'ija) was born to a Sierra Leone Father, Joe Blell and a Northern Nigerian mother. She is the last of two children, having an older brother who she describes as being her best friend.

D'ija finished her Primary and Secondary education in Kaduna Nigeria before going to Canada to get double degrees in Biology and Psychology after which she decided to pursue her passion in Music, Art and Philosophy.
She began to develop a love for music at an early age because her parents who were both lovers of music, her mum especially kept old records that she soon learned to cherish.
Growing up, she loved to make people laugh and thought about pursuing a career as a Comedian but because the idea of a female artist did not resonate well in the North did not pursue that career path early.
Her first taste of music started when her friend, Aman Manhas signed her up for a singing competition in Canada at the Beat Music Awards in the year 2008 oficially kick starting her career.
The song was nominated for Canadian awards in 2009. In the year 2009, she released her debut single 'Rock Steady' and after working underground for several years came out with new singles, 'Rudebwoy', 'Hold on' and 'How can we be friends' in 2012.
On February 14th 2014, Don Jazzy signed her to Marvin Records after being introduced to her by her manager and listening to her songs. Her first official single under Marvin, 'Yaro' was also released in thesame month.
In May 2014, Di'ja was featured on 'Dorobucci' alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Tiwa Savage, D'Prince, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks. She was also featured on 'Arise', 'Adaobi' and 'Looku Looku'.
In December 2014, she released 'Aww', a song which was quite received by a lot of hip hop fans in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, topping so many charts and increasing her fan base. She has since then gone on many concert tours outside Nigeria.
She signed an endorsment deal with Globacom Telecommunication company in Nigeria.
Di'ja married Mr Rotimi in 2015 and they have two children, A boy and a girl.
