Bimbo Akintola is 54 years old.
Abimbola is the third child of a family of six. Buoyed by her mother's support, she started acting as a pupil with her peers for the school’s end-of-year drama events. As she took part in more plays, her passion for acting grew and became effortless with time.
She grew up in Maryland, Lagos, where she attended Maryland Convent Private School for her primary education and Command Day Secondary School, Lagos. She had her tertiary education at University of Ibadan where she earned a BA in Theatre Arts. While in school, the actress used to perform every weekend at a place called Divine on Allen Avenue in Lagos, alongside the late Jaiye Aboderin.
Bimbo made her acting debut when she featured in the 1995 movie, Owo Blow, which also starred Femi Adebayo. Thereafter, she also starred in the 1997 movie, Out of Bounds alongside veteran, Richard Mofe Damijo. After the movie, she was awarded the Best Actress/English Actress in Nigeria.

Bimbo has dated various celebrities including actor Yemi Blaq and versatile musician, Dede Mabiaku. Bimbo and Dede were friends for two years before they started dating but later parted on mutual consent.
Bimbo has never been married and is yet to have any kids. She says that she has several kids, whom she takes care of. Some of them are already adults and have their own children.
Some reports online rank Bimbo as one of the top actresses who cannot do without smoking. But this does not seem to bother her. "I have read many stories about myself online that I don’t even know the person they are talking about. I’m not bothered because I know who I am," she once said.
Bimbo Akintola is estimated to have a net worth of about $800,000
