Hon. John Dyegh was born on December 2nd, 1962 in Mbatyav, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. Born to Mr David Chahul Dyegh and Mama Theresa Dyegh, he is of the Tiv tribe. Hon. Dyegh is a businessman and politician. He currently serves as a member of the Federal House of Representatives where he represents Gboko/Tarka Constituency.

Hon. Dyegh began his education at LGEA Primary School in Gboko and graduated with a First School Leaving Certificate. He thereafter attended Mbawuar Secondary School in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State and obtained a West African Senior Certificate (WASC) in 1980. He thereafter proceeded to Murtala College of Arts, Science and Technology, graduating with a National Diploma (ND) in 1982. In 1995, he obtained a Post-graduate Diploma (PGD) from Benue State University. In 2002, he obtained a Master's Degree (MA) in International Relation Studies from the Benue State University. He further obtained a Doctorate degree in Economic History from the Benue State University in 2011.
In 2011, Hon. Dyegh was elected under the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to represent Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. During that time, he served in various House Committees such as; gas resources, science & technology, inter-parliamentary relations, appropriations, drug & narcotics, and education. In 2015, he was re-elected to serve a second term under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.
Known for being outspoken in the chamber, Hon. Dyegh accused Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, of valuing cows more than human life. He made this assertion in March 2017. He also claimed that some powerful Nigerians were frustrating the passage of the bill prohibiting open grazing pending before the House.
In January 2018, Hon. Dyegh, was accused of unlawfully killing one Ahom Asom. The deceased died as a result of the quack medical treatment which he got from Hon. Dyegh’s free medical outreach.
Hon. Dyegh is a Christian, married and blessed with children including his son, Mike Dee.
Merit Award as Grand Patron of Wheelbarrow Pushers Association, Gboko Local Government Area, in recognition of his immense contribution to the development of Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency.
