Hon. Joseph Edionwele

Hon. (Chief) Joseph Eghoghon Edionwele was born on January 31st, 1960 to the Family of late Pa. and Mrs. Jerinah Edionwele of Idumun-ogo Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area, Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria. He is a chartered accountant and politician representing Esan Central/West/Igueben Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon. Joseph Edionwele Early Life

Hon. Edionwele attended St Paul's Anglican Primary School Iruekpen between the late 60's and the early 70's. He also attended Ujoelen Grammar School, Ekpoma between 1974 and 1978. He passed his WAEC in Flying colours and as a result of his brilliant performance he was retained to teach Mathematics there in Ujoelen Grammar School. Afterwards he proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi where he studied Accountancy and grauated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in 1985.

Hon. Joseph Edionwele Career

Hon. Edionwele had his mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC) in Aba, Abia State during the 1984/1985 service year. He worked briefly at Union Bank of Nigeria. After which he pegged his tent with Nigeria Institute for Oil Palm Research, Edo State. At Oil Palm, he rose to the position of a Chief Accountant before he resigned for Politics. He also became a Chartered Accountant.

Hon. Edionwele was elected Executive Chairman, Esan West Local Government Area, Ekpoma, in 1999 and served in that capacity until 2002. He was thereafter in 2003, appointed a member of Edo State Local Government Service Commission. He was a member of Board of the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu and the Secretary of South-South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

Hon. Joe Edionwele is the member representing Esan Central/West/Igueben Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives. He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a member of numerous House Committees such as Appropriation, Health Service, Tertiary Education, Information and orientation, National planning and Economic Development, Culture and Tourism, and Special Duties.

Hon. (Chief) Edionwele is happily married to Chief (Mrs.) Patricia Edionwele. Thier marriage is blessed with children.
