Honourable Azubogu Chris Chukwuemeka Ifeanyi was born on December 24th, 1968. He hails from Nnewi in Anambra State, Nigeria. He is a Project Manager, IT Consultant, Agric Engineer, politician and lawmaker. He is currently serving a second term as a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.

Hon. Azubogu grew up in Nnewi, Anambra State. He earned his First School Leaving certificate (FSLC) in 1974 from Umunnealam Primary School Umudun Nnewi. In 1980, he passed his West African School Certificate Examinations (WASCE) at Okongwu Memorial Grammar School Nnewi. He thereafter proceeded to the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in 1985. He then took part in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
Between 1988 and 1990, Hon. Chris worked at Adarice Production. He was at Nigerian Oil Mills Kano from 1990 to 1991. He worked as a contractor with SPDC beginning from 1998. He has also consulted for different state governments such as Rivers, Anambra and Enugu.
In 2011 Hon. Chris was elected into the Federal House of Representatives to represent Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra State, under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was re-elected in 2015. At the House he serves in the following committees; appropriations, interior, aids, loans & debt management, constituency outreach, agriculture, governmental affairs, and houses services/welfare.
Some of his bills include: a bill to alter section 15(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) aimed at altering the motto of Nigeria from “Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress” to “Justice and Equity, Peace and Progress”; the National Emergency Management Agency (establishment, etc.) Act (amendment) bill, 2013, with which he sought to amend the National Emergency Management Agency Act so as to merge Federal Fire Service establishment under Fire Emergency Management Act (establishment etc.), Act Cap N34 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 to harmonize the activities of disaster management and emergencies, by so doing, avoiding duplicity of functions of the two agencies.
He is also the Deputy/Vice Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation.
