About Abaji Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Abaji is a local government area located in the Federal Capital territory, Northcentral Nigeria. The headquarters of Abaji LGA are at Abuja while the area consists of villages such as Agyana, Bago, Manderegi, Nah, Tosho, Yawule, and Panagana.The dominant ethnic groups found in Abaji include the Egbira, the Hausa, and the Ganagana.

Islam and Christianity are commonly practiced in Abaji LGA while the Hausa and English languages are commonly spoken by the dwellers of the area.

 


GEOGRAPHY OF ABAJI

Abaji local government area covers a total area of 992 km squared with an average temperature of 29 degrees centigrade. The area witnesses two major seasons which are the dry and the rainy seasons while the area's humidity level is put at 39 percent.


ECONOMY OF ABAJI

Subsistence farming and trade are popular in Abaji local government area with the Abaji main market providing a veritable platform for the sale and purchase of a variety of items.

HISTORY OF ABAJI

The Abaji area was formerly known as Igabaji and was traditionally superintended over by the Ona of Abaji.
