Originally from the South East of Nigeria, Agbim grew up in the Northern part of the country. In 2001, he joined the Court of Appeal F.C. youth team.

Chigozie Agbim Career

Agbim began his senior career with Gombe United F. C. before joining Al-Merreikh SC of Sudan in 2004.  After a year in Sudan , he returned to Nigeria, and signed for Nigeria Port Authority FC. In 2006, he signed for Enugu Rangers, and Warri Wolves in 2009. After a protracted transfer dispute, he rejoined Enugu Rangers from Warri Wolves F.C. in April 2013 for a fee of eight million naira. He joined Gombe United in February 2014 and returned to Rangers in April 2015.

Agbim made his international debut for Nigeria in a friendly against Angola in January 2012. He was selected for the Nigerian squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. He was also part of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup team. In January 2014, he was the starting goalkeeper for the Super Eagles at the African Nations Championship, as the team finished in third place. In June 2014, he was named in Nigeria's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
