Gift Iyumame Uwame Eke (known as Muma Gee) was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria on November 18th, 1978. She is a famous Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artiste, actress, businesswoman, fashion designer, television personality and politician.

Originally from Odiabidi, a small village in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers StateMuma Gee grew up in a strict Christian household. She is the third child in a family of six children. Her father, who was involved in Military Medicine died when she was still young. After her father’s death, Muma Gee was raised by her mother. At the age of 4 years old, she joined the local choir at her church, The Seventh-day Adventist Church. It was there that she began to realize her musical talent and potential.
Muma Gee completed both her primary and secondary school education in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria and obtained both her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. She then proceeded to University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.
After completing her university education, Muma Gee ventured into business and entrepreneurship. In addition to her academic background, she owned and operated numerous other businesses including vehicle leasing company, restaurant, tailor shop and beauty salon. She also became part of Port Harcourt’s burgeoning music scene, performing at nightclubs and inner city bars.
In 2004, she started her music career and became popular after releasing her hit single “Kade” which also became the title and first track of her first official album released in 2006. The music video of Kade was directed by Wudi Awa.
In 2010, Muma Gee rose to prominence as a contestant on the celebrity edition of Nigerian reality TV series Gulder Ultimate Search. Prior to entering the show, she had worked on her second studio album, The Woman in Question, that would be released a day after her eviction. On May 3rd, 2010, sh released her second official studio album titled “The Woman in Question”. Amebo and African Juice were the two singles released from the second studio album.
Muma Gee have also collaborated with artists and producers such as Samini, VIP, OJB, Cobhams, Asuquo and Terry G amongst others. In early 2012, she started work on her third studio album titled “Motherland” with hit singles like Port Harcourt is Back, African Woman Skilashy and Jikele.
Apart from singing, Muma Gee is also an actress and has acted in few Nollywood movies some of which include Secret Code, Last Dance, Solid Affection, and The Code. She is currently signed to Black Attraction Productions, Mgee Records and Geeklips Entertainment.
Muma Gee's social life and alleged relationships have gained widespread coverage in the media, with the most prominent being her emotional affair with former GUS campmate Emeka Ike.
In 2011, she got married to Nollywood famous actor Prince Eke. On April 18th, 2014, she gave birth to a set of twins comprising of a boy and a girl by the name Chika Eke and Chisa Eke. Their third child and second daughter by the name Okwuluoka was born on August 18th, 2016. Their marriage crashed in late 2016 with Muma Gee sighting domestic violence and neglect. In September 2017, she gave an interview during which she said, “It is exactly one year ago that I separated from my ex- husband. But then, he gave the impression that the issue happened in December 2016. I put in my best as an African woman to ensure the marriage lasted."
