Oluwashina Akanbi Peters popularly known as Shina Peters was born on 30th May 1958 in Ogun state, Nigeria

With a fusion of Juju, Afro-Beat, and intense Fuji-style percussion, Sir Shina Peters held his fans and admirers spellbound with every rendition.
His journey into the music industry began when he played as Olushina and His Twelve Fantastic Brothers with his friends, teaching himself to play the piano and eventually joining Ebenezer Obey's band. He later joined General Prince Adekunle, playing the guitar in Lagos hotels such as Western Hotel, Palm Beach Hotel and Executive Hotel sometimes covering for Adekunle as lead singer when he was indisposed.
He soon found his own band, "Sir Shina Peters & His International Stars". In 1989, they released their first album 'Ace'(Afro-Juju Series 1) under CBS Records of Nigeria, produced by Laolu Akins. The album contained singles like "Ijo Shina".
His second album, "Shinamania" (Afro-Juju Series 2) with singles like "Oluwa Yo Pese", "Omo Bo" and "Give our women chance" revolutionalized Juju music and set him apart as a voice to reckon with. He has received numerous awards and recognitions and his band went on to become a household name. Sir Shina Peters sold millions of copies of his albums worldwide and his music has taken him to places he had only dreamed of.
Apart from music, Shina peters has stared in Nollywood movies like Ola Balogun's "Money Power"
