Okechukwu Chukwudi Ukeje (popularly known as OC Ukeje) was born on July 15th, 1981 in Lagos, Nigeria. He is the second child of a family of three.

OC grew up in Lagos where he had his basic education. He attended the Federal Government College Ijanikin Lagos. He then proceeded to University of Lagos and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. He began his career in acting from his first year in the University of Lagos with a lead role in a stage play and drama.
After graduating from the university, OC went on to pursue a career in both music and acting. He is very handsome, creative and talented. He came into prominence after winning the Amstel Malta Box Office reality TV show. In 2008, he made his first professional screen appearance in a movie titled, White Waters, alongside actresss Joke Silva and Rita Dominic. The movie was directed by Izu Ojukwu.
In 2007, OC was cast as a lead character in the popular television series “Wetin Dey”. The film was produced by BBC World Service Trust and presented at the International Emmy World Television Festival. In 2012, he featured in the blockbuster movie “Black November” the movie was produced by Jeta Amata featuring Hollywood celebrities like Mickey Rourke, Kim Basinger, Sarah Wayne-Callies, Hakeem Kae-Kazim and Vivica Fox. In 2013, OC was the lead character in the popular movie “Half of a Yellow Sun” alongside with top celebrities like Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton. The story of the movie was generated from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel with th same title. The movie was directed by Biyi Bandele. In 2016 he was invited with Somkele Iyamah to attend the Toronto International Film Festival as "rising stars".
In 2012, OC was among the team that showcased 3 stage plays for the Nigeria House at the London Cultural Olympiad. He also acted in the BFI sponsored film “Gone Too Far”. In January 2015, he was listed by Nigerian Cinema Exhibition Coalition as one of the highest box office grosser of 2014. In 2016, he was invited alongside with Somkele Iyamah to attend the Toronto International Film Festival as “Nollywood rising stars” in Canada.
OC got married to Senami Ibukunoluwa Togonu-Bickersteth on November 8th, 2014 but has since then been living apart due to circumstances beyond their control. Speaking with HipTv, he disclosed how he and his wife have been coping. “It’s purely circumstantial. [T]he reason I say this is because I think that for every upwardly mobile person or people at some point in your life you are going to have to deal with distance with your partner. Whether at the upstart of a relationship or in the middle or somewhere much later you will experience it," he said.
In January 2015, he was listed by Nigerian Cinema Exhibition Coalition as one of the highest box office grosser of 2014. He has an estimated net worth of $5 million.
OC has received several awards including Africa Movie Academy Awards, Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Nollywood Movies Awards, Best of Nollywood Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards. He has featured in several award winning films including Two Brides and a Baby, Hoodrush, Alan Poza, Confusion Na Wa and Half of a Yellow Sun.
