Simisola Bolatito Adeola Opeyemi Oreoluwa Ogunleye known simply known as Simi is an Afro-Pop singer and songwriter born on April 19, 1988 in Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos state, Nigeria as the last of four children and the only girl and as a result used to be a tomboy, trying to fit in with her brothers. She is a native of Ondo state, Nigeria.

She was raised by a single mother as her parents separated when she was 9.
She studied Mass communication at Covenant University after attending Stars International College, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Most people know Simi from songs like Falz's “Soldier” in which she was featured and “Jamb Question” in which she featured Falz but before these, Simi was a gospel artiste probably due to her background in the church choir, releasing her first album, Ogbaju which was produced by Samklef in 2008 with singles like 'Ara Ile' and 'Iya Temi'.
She soon got signed to X3M Music record label after releasing her EP "Restless" which included covers of popular songs by international acts like Rihanna’s 'Man Down' and Adele’s 'Set Fire to the Rain'. She released her first secular single 'Tiff' under her new label imprint, garnering nominations at the Headies.
In 2016, She released 'Chemistry' with Falz and in 2017, she released her album, Simisola which peaked at No 5 on the Billboard World Music charts and number 1 on both the Apple Music and iTunes charts, holding that position for three weeks. Her music which she describes as Afro-pop is a fusion of Afro-beat, pop, soul and high-life and is inspired by other people's stories and experiences, carved out from her day-to-day interactions.
Since coming to the music scene, she has released other hits like "Love Don’t Care" which was released on February 14, 2016 with music video directed by Clarence Peters, "Smile For Me", "No Forget featuring Adekunle Gold", "Orire" featuring Legendary Beatz among others.
She was responsible for the arrangement and mixing of Adekunle's Orente and has been nominated for a number of awards including -
On Feb 10, 2017, Simi became an ambassador for one of Nigeria’s telecommunication firms, Etisalat and in 2018, became an ambassador for Opera Mini in Nigeria.
