Aishatu Jibril Dukku was born on December 18th, 1963 in Kaduna, Nigeria to parents from Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State. She is an educationalist, politician, and philanthropist. She currently represents Dukku/Nafada Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Hon Aishatu attended Central Primary School, Gombe, from 1970 and obtained the First School Leaving Certificate in 1976. She enrolled at Federal Government Girl's College (FGGC), Bauchi in 1976. In 1981 she graduated with a General Certificate of Examination (GCE). She was thereafter admitted to Bayero Univeristy, Kano in 1982 to study English Education. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Art Degree in 1986.
Hon. Aishatu began her career in 1987 as an English Language teacher at Government Secondary School, Gombe. In February 1988, she was appointed by the then Bauchi State Government as English language teacher with Government Girls' Science Secondary School, Doma, Gombe state. Her major promotion came in 1990 when she was appointed Vice-Principal (Academic) at Pilot Junior Secondary School, Gombe.
From 1990 to 1994, Hon Aishatu worked at the Women Commission as Women Development Officer, Gombe state. She was moved to the Ministry of Education, Bauchi as Vice-Principal (Academic) Government Girls' Science Secondary School, Doma, Gombe State from 1994 to 1996. In 1996, she was appointed principal, Gandu Junior Secondary School, Gombe. In 1997, the school was upgraded and she was appointed first principal, Government Day Secondary School, Gandu. From 1999 to March 2006, she was the first and pioneer Principal at Federal Government Girls' College, Bajoga, Gombe State.
Hon Aishatu was appointed a Federal Inspector in March 2006 with the Federal Ministry of Education in Gombe State. She served there until May 2007. On July 26th 2007 she was Nigeria's appointed Minister of Education until March 17th, 2010.
In 2015, she was elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to represent Dukku and Nafada Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. Her legislative interests include education for the girl child and women, youth empowerment, poverty alleviation and skill acquisition. She is also the Chairman at the House Committee on Committee on Electoral Matters and Political Parties Affairs.
