Hon. Henry Archibong

Honourable (Dr.) Henry Okon Archibong was born on January 1st, 1967 into the family of Otuekong Joseph Okon Archibong of Ikot Akpan Ama Itam in Mbak Obio Itam, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He is a medical doctor and politician who currently represents Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Hon. Henry Archibong Early Life

Honourable Archibong began his education at State School II Sangana Street, Mile I in Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1978. He thereafter enrolled at Immaculate Conception Seminary College, Mfamosing in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State. Thereafter he moved to the Federal College of Arts and Science, Aba where he obtained his West African Schools Certificate (WASC). He was at the College of Medical Sciences in the University of Calabar, Cross River State where he obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in 1994.

Honourable Archibong also attended West African College of Surgeons in 1997 where specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was among the only seven (7) students who passed in the whole of the West African sub-region. 

After his National Youth Service Program in Ondo State, Honourable Archibong worked with Gbeye Clinic & Maternity in Port Harcourt, where he served as a Principal Medical Officer. He was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Crystalid Hotels and Accommodations, Onelga, Rivers State. He was a member of board of Akwa Ibom Rural Water and Sanitation Agency. He was also the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Cyrhaven Health Services and Cyrhaven Model School.

From 2012 to 2014, he was at the British Council for the IELTS examinations. In 2009, he was at the Advance Resuscitation Academy for a Certificate in Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). It was also in that same year that he obtained another certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the same institution. Dr. Archibong also got admission to pursue course in Management of Health Systems (MPH) with the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

In 2015, Honourabl Archibong participated in the general election and was elected as a member representing the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency of Akaw Ibom State under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party. His legislative interests border on health, environmental sustainability, Millennium Development Goals, development of Niger Delta, oil & gas, security and foreign affairs. He targets to bring about the achievement of the millennium development goals as a mark of good governance.
