Hon. Mark Gbillah Early Life

Hon. Gbillah attended Mount Saint Gabriel's Secondary School in Makurdi, Benue State and graduated with a General Certificate of Examination (GCE) in 1987. He was admitted to the University of Jos, Plateau State in 1992 and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Building. He further earned an MBA from the University of Liverpool in England.

Hon. Gbillah has worked in several private businesses. He was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cyrosure Global Ltd, Lagos - construction, international & local consultancy, real estate, international franchise, telecommunications and agriculture. From December 2005 to March 2009, he was the project leader at Zain Nigeria Limited. At Zain, he was involved in the project management of the Group Plan for expansion of Zain Nigeria Network Subscriber capacity from 20 to 30 million amongst other achievements. From March 2009, he worked as project manager at Helios Towers Nigeria where he provided overall end to end project management of Group Network and infrastructural roll out plan in line with group and client projections.

In 2015, Hon. Mark was elected under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Gwer East/Gwer West Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja. His legislative interests include appropriation & procurement processes, anti-corruption, telecom services and infrastructure. Others include effective oversight, public & private sector accountability, constitutional control of herdsmen, security and defense.

In a letter dated June 9th, 2016 the U.S. Ambassador in Nigeria, Mr. Entwistle, accused Hon. Gbillah and two other Nigerian lawmakers, Samuel Ikon (Akwa Ibom PDP) and Hon. Mohammed Garba Gololo (Bauchi APC), of soliciting sexual favours from hotel staff in two separate incidents. The three reps were exonerated in February 2017 and immediately picked lawyers to handle their $1bn suit against the US government and its agents.

Hon. Gbillah is married to Mrs. Sophia Gbillah who is based in the US. He is a lover of music and basketball.
