Oshimili North

Oshimili North local government area is domiciled in Delta state, South-south geopolitical zone of Nigeria with its headquarters in the town of Akwukwu-Igbo. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Ogwashi-uku, Ubulu, Okpanam, Ugbolu, Oko Okwe, Nsukwa, and Ibusa. The estimated total population of Oshimili North LGA is put at 304,800 inhabitants with the area mostly inhabited by members of the Anioma ethnic affiliation. The Anioma languages are spoken in the LGA while the religion of Christianity is extensively practiced in the area. Prominent traditional rulers in Oshimili North LGA include the Iyase of Obodogba and the Obi of Akwukwu Igbo.

The LGA also has a boisterous trade sector with the area hosting several markets such as the Umuehim and Ogolgologo markets which attract thousands of buyers and sellers of different commodities. Other economic activities that take place in Oshimili North LGA include farming and the construction of canoes and fishing nets.
