Esan South East

Esan Southeast local government area is located in Edo state, in the Southern parts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Ubiaja. The towns and villages that make up Esan Southeast LGA include Igiode, Anumeji, Ivhioghe, Obadudu, Uzanu, Oria, Ogbokpa, Onogholo, and Udo. The population of Esan Southeast LGA is estimated at 287,566 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s inhabitants being members of the Esan ethnic division. The Esan language is extensively spoken in the area while the most practiced religions in the area include Christianity and traditional religion.

The average temperature of the area is put at 28 degrees centigrade while the average humidity of the area is estimated at 69percent. A number of crops such as oil palm, beans, yam, and cassava are grown in Esan Southeast LGA. The area also hosts a number of markets which include the Adara market in Ugboha, the Ubiaja market and the Ahia market. These markets provide platforms for the dwellers of Esan Southeast LGA to buy and sell a wide variety of commodities.
