Etsako central LGA is a local government area in Edo state, South-south geopolitical division of Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Fugar. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages such as Apeabebe, Ogochi, Osomegbe, Yeruwa, Iviadoko, Ulumoga, Amughe, and Okpekpe. The estimated population of Etsako central LGA is put at 342,588 inhabitants with the area hosting members of several ethnic sub-divisions such as the Ekperi. The commonly spoken language in Etsako central LGA is the Afemai language while Islam and Christianity are widely practiced in the area. Etsako central LGA hosts the annual International Okpekpe road race which attracts thousands of athletes every year. Notable festivals held in Etsako central LGA include the Otsa festival and the Ikpelo-Ibaki festival.

Etsako central local government area was created in the year 1996 from the Etsako East LGA.
