Mushin local government area is one of the twenty LGAs in Lagos state, Southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are domiciled in the Palm Avenue district of Mushin Area. Mushin LGA is bordered by popular areas such as Oshodi, Somolu, Surulere and Agege. Mushin LGA hosts the Odi/Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area and is made up of several districts such as Palm Avenue, Matori Industrial estate, Ladipo, Amu, Idi oro, Itire, Ajeano, and Isolo road. The population of Mushin LGA is put at an estimated 503,492 inhabitants with the area hosting members of diverse ethnic affiliations. The Yoruba and Pidgin English languages are commonly spoken in the LGA while the religions of Islam and Christianity are practiced in the area. Traditional rulers in Mushin LGA include the Olu of Mushin Oba and the Onitire of Itire while notable landmarks in Mushin LGA include the Lagos state University Teaching Hospital and the Federal Institute of Industrial Research and Organization.
