Hon Abubakar attended Barewa College in Zaria, Kaduna State where he sat for and passed the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1996. He had his tertiary education at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria and obtained a diploma in 2005.
