Ekwusigo local government area is found in Anambra state, Southeast Nigeria with the headquarters of the area domiciled in the town of Ozubulu. The towns and villages that make up Ekwusigo LGA include Oraifite, Ihembosi, Ichi, Ozubulu, Ubulu uno, Ubulu uku, and Omambara.The population of Ekwusigo LGA is estimated at 172,644 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s populace being members of the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo and English languages are widely spoken in the area while Christianity is the commonly practiced religion in the LGA. Popular festivals held in Ekwusigo local government area include the New yam festival and the Uzoiyi festival while the notable landmarks in the area include the Nigerian Post Office at Ozubulu.

Ekwusigo local government area is known for the cultivation of a number of crops such as maize, yam, cassava and cocoyam. The area also hosts several markets which include the Ichi central market. Other important economic activities in the LGA include fishing, welding and manufacturing.
